Out: Letters
In: Short affirmations

Individual letters can also have great meaning, e.g., the initials of your loved one. But in 2024 we are going one step further and having affirmations engraved under our skin. These are positive statements that we hope to internalize. And a tattoo is practically the epitome of internalization.

Out: Portraits
In: Fine-line tattoos of animals

Delicate lines and minimalist motifs will continue to be all the rage in 2024. Stars such as Rita Ora and Kendall Jenner are already big fans of subtle fine-line tattoos. The technique makes it easy to achieve abstract motifs as well as exact depictions of animals or flowers. What we particularly love about the tattoo trend is that it is just as versatile and can be easily adapted to personal motifs. Out: Large designs
In: Tiny tattoos and micro motifs

If Hailey Bieber is leading the way, we're following suit—or at least something like it. Shortly before the start of 2024, the model got a tiny tattoo (a mini bow, to be precise), setting the tone for tattoos in the new year. Mini ornaments are also still very popular as a motif in this size. They look like fine pieces of jewelry on the skin and also work on the fingers or wrist as a substitute for “real” jewelry. They are usually a sophisticated series of dots and lines. While mandalas are often large and feature broad, deep black lines, the mini designs are often tiny, and therefore perfect for tattoo beginners.
