We can’t deny that this Lunya review came months after virtually every member of our editorial team got swept up in the eerily on-point Instagram shopping algorithm. The brand’s sleepwear—and the dreamy images that accompany each post—spoke to our collective desire to wake up with perfect bedhead, sip lattes from stoneware mugs on a sun-dappled couch, and do it all effortlessly—because that’s the kind of energy that seems to radiate from Lunya’s silk sets.
The brand was founded in Santa Monica in 2012 and specializes in minimalist sleepwear that balances luxurious materials with relaxed, Cali-cool silhouettes. Its core collection is made from a handful of carefully considered materials—think organic pima cotton, wool, and modal—with washable silk as the hero fabric and main selling point. The lightweight material is featured in everything from sexy slips and slinky robes to wide-leg pants and oversized T-shirt and shorts sets. The silk pajamas come in a wide range of colors, from neutrals like tan and navy to seasonal hues like mint green and deep purple—all equally sumptuous and primed for the dreamiest golden-hour selfie your phone has seen.
The “washable” bit requires a closer look because Lunya’s silk is different from the kind you know and may have hanging in your closet. It’s prewashed with sand—a process that softens and distresses the fabric to give it a brushed look and feel. What are your general thoughts? A silver dream! There’s something so inherently special about sleeping in silk as opposed to an oversized tee with avocado stains—and this set is even better IRL than I thought it would be. The material is cool to the touch, and the silk has a brushed sheen to it. Also, the Cloud color is so, so dreamy. I feel totally at ease wearing these PJs—so much so that I could eat an entire bowl of spaghetti and not think twice (which, mind you, is a rarity for clothes I genuinely like).
What is the overall fit like? Is it actually comfy for sleeping, or do you prefer it just for lounging? I have to preface this with the fact that I’m petite and most pajama sets are usually too big on me. (We’re talking too-big waistbands, too-wide tops, and pants that puddle on the floor.) This set, however, is perfectly oversized. The draping is beautiful, and the material really moves with you when you walk. I tucked the T-shirt in for the photo, but for the record, it’s pretty long and could probably pass for a dress on my smaller torso (I’m 5'1", in case you were wondering). That said, I’m actually shocked by how much I love this set for sleeping—way more than I do lounging. (I thought it would be the opposite.) I’m definitely one of those people who runs hot at night, so having full-on leg ventilation while I’m in la-la land is my kind of vibe.

Last words? This is the perfect summer set. It’s lightweight and romantic—and while $200 isn’t exactly pocket change for me, if you think about it from a price-per-wear standpoint, it’s definitely worth it if you wear it all. the. time.

What are your general thoughts? I never thought I’d find myself endorsing $258 pajamas, but the second you cocoon yourself in this ridiculously soft, ultra-luxurious silk, you’ll understand why they’re so expensive.
What is the overall fit like? Is it actually comfy for sleeping, or do you prefer it just for lounging? The button-down and pants set is just as comfortable to lounge around the house in as it is to sleep in—and it’s so chic, I’m not embarrassed to go out in the hall or answer the door in them.
How does the silk really hold up after washing? Did you notice any changes in the fabric or fit? Washing the set is much easier than I anticipated, though I definitely recommend putting them in a mesh bag so they don’t snag. They are on the wrinkly side, but it’s nothing a quick steam can’t fix.
Last words? I love that the sizing goes up to XXXL—it’s obnoxious how hard it is to find cool plus-size PJs.

What are your general thoughts? It’s TMI, but in the interest of full disclosure: I sleep naked. Look, I spent good money on my Parachute linen sheets, so I have not been looking for anything to come between me and them—until I tried this Lunya pants set. The silk is baby soft (you really just want to run your hands over the material all day), and the fabric is so light and airy, it shouldn’t overheat anyone—even those who double as furnaces (hi).

Before this one, I actually got the tank and shorts set but found that the shorts’ tulip cut was way too breezy for me to wear as loungewear (I have big windows so am really not cool with having to worry about Marilyn moments). But this pants set? It’s practically perfect. The top is so comfortable and has a nice high-low hem (that’s fit for my baby bump!), and I don’t even want to wear a bra under it because why would I deprive my boobs of the silky soft material? I even fall asleep in it, which is something that never happens since I usually get night sweats.
How does the silk really hold up after washing? Did you notice any changes in the fabric or fit? I wash my sets in a garment bag in cold water and drape them over a drying rack—but they wrinkle nearly every time. The care tips recommend laying flat to dry, but in my apartment, I don’t always have room for that. The silk feels just as soft and luxe after washing, but the wrinkles can be a bit annoying to look at. It helps that I have a darker-colored set, since I’m not exactly the kind of person who’s willing to whip out a steamer for PJs.
Last words? I’m sorry to your wallet, but yes, these live up to the hype. They’re the perfect thing to put on your wishlist or give as a gift because they feel like a true indulgence whenever you wear them. The only downside is the inability to select a pants inseam length—these aren’t cheap, so it would be great if Lunya offered a hemming service, if not multiple lengths. For reference, I’m 5'2" and have inches of material left dragging on the floor, so shorties beware!

What are your general thoughts? These are undeniably fancy—laying them out and then wearing them elevates my evening and lounging routines the way a butler or a small bedside fountain might. I haven’t ever owned silk, so I didn’t know what to expect. These are so light, they feel like being naked in a freshwater lake that is one or two degrees cooler than your body temperature. If you’re looking for something really cozy and warm, this is absolutely not it. But if you sleep hot or want pajamas for spring and summer, these are very dreamy.

Yes, this set makes me feel like I’m the kind of millionaire influencer who eats a lot of powdered mushrooms and owns various premade flower crowns for different occasions. But it does not make me look hot. Trying to take a cute picture while wearing this was truly a humbling experience. No matter how I readjust it, it has a distinctly sacklike appearance. The set fits comfortably, and it’s very luxe, but I don’t think it is any more likely to wow a partner than my oversized summer camp T-shirts from 2011.

I was worried the silk was going to be extremely delicate and that I would ruin it right away, but it seems pretty hard to ruin.
Last words? The quality of the fabric surpassed my already high expectations, and putting these on feels like a huge treat. For $178, I want pajamas that feel amazing and make me look hot. But I think it’s very possible that this just wasn’t the right Lunya set for me. That pants set is calling out to me…maybe I just need one more option to look comfy and hot!

What are your general thoughts? This was so comfortable and high-quality. I felt like a true lady of leisure in the beautiful blush tone, and the fabric draped so nicely over the body. It’s a chic, elevated staple to keep hanging up nearby for wear around the house—but I also wore it for a quick store run, styled with a camel robe coat and light brown Uggs (LOL). It has some wrinkles after being stored in a dresser, but they quickly fell out after a few passes with this handheld steamer I got from Amazon.
What is the overall fit like? Is it actually comfy for sleeping, or do you prefer it just for lounging? I don’t know that I would sleep in this, because it feels too fancy to roll around in. I love the open back and the slit in the front, but I do wish it did a little bit more for my shape.
