Meghan Trainor loves to talk about her sex life with her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, of wholesome Spy Kids fame.

The “All About That Bass” singer married the former child star in an intimate backyard ceremony in December 2018, and has since welcomed their first child, Riley, on February 8, 2021. In April 2023, Trainor announced they're expecting baby number two. “What a blessing,” Trainor told People. “I'm just so grateful I can get pregnant. And I'm like, ‘I'm crushing it. This is amazing. This is my dream.’ I'm halfway there—I want four kids!’”

While many celeb couples do their very best to keep their home lives private and low-key, Trainor and Sabara are quite the opposite. In fact, the subtitle of Trainor's new book even acknowledges her status as TMI queen: Dear Future Mama: A TMI Guide to Pregnancy, Birth, and Motherhood from Your Bestie. And, folks, she's not exaggerating!

The 29-year-old really goes there about pregnancy, especially when it comes to how it affects her sex life with Sabara. And as much as we may cringe, there's definitely something refreshing about her honesty. Was I expecting to learn about vaginismus from a bubbly pop star? Nope. But hey, at least now I know!

From couples toilets to unprompted penis talk, here are some of the most personal details Meghan Trainor has shared about her life with Daryl Sabara.

November 2020: Meghan Trainor does not want to have sex while pregnant, even if it's perfectly safe for the baby. In a chat with Today Parents, she opened up about how she really feels about pregnancy sex and how it's just not for her. “Maybe this is weird, but mentally I can’t have sex while our son is in between us,” she said. “All my pregnancy apps say it feels really good. But all I can think about is that there’s a little boy in my belly.”

At the time of the interview, Trainor was pregnant with her first child, Riley. As a first-time mom, her hesitation was understandable, but, as she noted, having sex during pregnancy actually feels great for some people.

October 2021: Trainor revealed a design choice she and Sabara made when renovating their home that is…intimate. “Nobody knows this, but in our bathroom, there was one toilet, and a lot of time in the middle of the night when we’re with the baby we’ve got to pee at the same time. So I was like, ‘Can we please have two toilets next to each other?'” she told Nicole Byer on the Why Won't You Date Me podcast.

The reasoning almost makes sense, but the setup feels a little too close for comfort. If you're wondering, they have pooped together. Twice. “We’ve only pooped together twice. We pee at the same time a lot,” she admitted.

According to Architectural Digest, separate bedrooms for couples “often leads to improved moods and a strengthened connection.” If it works for bedrooms, why not toilets?

Trainor and Sabara's unique experience seems to work for the couple. “The best part about my relationship is that Darryl—he cares so much about me, my well-being, my emotional state, my physical, everything,” she said. “And he just wants to do anything he can to make me better, and make my life easier.”

April 19, 2023: Trainor opted to deliver her first child via C-section, but even so, she preened for the special occasion—with the help of her husband

Due to her baby bump, she couldn't comfortably bend to shave her legs or her lady parts. Enter Sabara, who didn't hesitate to lend her a helping hand. “He shaved everything,” she told People. “I don’t know why, but I was like, ‘I want a clear path. I want nothing in the way, so make sure it’s gorgeous down there,’ so they could see everything. And he did that for me.”

In a strange way, it's kind of romantic. “I told him yesterday, 'I'm at that point where I can't see, I can't reach, I can't bend.' He'll do anything for me,” she said. Everyone deserves a Daryl Sabara in their life!

April 19, 2023: In an April 19 episode of the podcast she hosts with her brother Ryan, Workin' On It, Trainor revealed that sex is painful for her due to vaginismus, which she was recently diagnosed with. “My husband is a big boy,” she said. “My pussy is broken, though. I have pussy anxiety.” Vaginismus is a condition which affects the pelvic floor and leads to involuntary contractions and intense pelvic pain.

“[It’s] to the point where I’m like ‘Is it all in?’ and he’s like, ‘Just the tip.’ And I’m like, ‘I can’t do anymore.’ I don’t know how to fix that. Do I stretch?” she said. “I wish I could make Daryl smaller. It’s painful, dude.” Though she shares the story lightheartedly, the reality hurts. She feels like she “can't walk,” she said, and has even iced herself after being intimate with her husband.

May 2, 2023: In case it wasn't made abundantly clear in her previous interview, Trainor reiterated the size of her husband's penis in more detail on a May 3 episode of High Low With EmRata. “I’ve been talking about how tight I am and my husband is so very big,” she told host Emily Ratajkowski. Initially, Trainor thought their problem was Sabara's size, but she later learned that her vaginismus condition was the culprit all along.

To alleviate the pain and discomfort long-term, Trainor needs physical therapy, where she will “put gages and rings up in me and stretch. It’s a whole thing I don’t want to worry about.” With penetrative sex out of the question, Trainor and Sabara find different ways to explore intimacy and they are both very satisfied, in case you were concerned.

“I can have a fine time with other stuff. I’m very satisfied. My hubby, I take care of him. He’s fine. He’s satisfied,” she says. “We’re great, but it’s tough.”
